Program

WASH GOOD

Sanitation is one of the factors that cause stunting, with polluted water and an unclean environment making pregnant women vulnerable to illness and disrupting fetal growth, as well as toddlers.

This program aims to improve the welfare of mothers and children through the provision of proper drinking water and sanitation facilities.

Background

Data from the Ministry of Health states that in 2015 out of a total of 83,931 villages, 5,447 villages had implemented Stop Open Defecation (OD) (Kemenkes, 2020). Two years later or in 2017 the number increased to 9,212 villages. While community access to sanitation in 2015 amounted to 56.08%, in 2016 it increased to 71.14%. From these data, it is known that there is an imbalance between the increasing development of sanitation facilities, but also the increasing habit of community open defecation.

From these data, it is necessary to optimize the programs that have been designed by the government, one of which is “WASH GOOD”, a program initiated by Cita Sehat Foundation, which is a combination of WASH and STBM programs to support and optimize all activities related to environmental health, especially in sanitation.
