Monday (27/3/23), Cita Sehat had the opportunity to attend as one of the speakers at the webinar entitled ”Empowering Sustainable Development in SMEs, NPOs and Schools for a Better Tomorrow” which was held by the Zayed Sustainability Prize.
Zayed Sustainability Prize (ZSP) is an awards event for institutions that strive for sustainable development. This award is a form of respect for Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, the founder of the United Arab Emirates, who was committed to humanity and sustainability. ZSP provides awards for SMEs, NGOs/Non-Profit Organizations, and universities that offer impactful, innovative, and inspiring solutions in the health sector.
ZSP then held a webinar as a discussion moment regarding SDGs which was attended by 100 people. The webinar, which was held via zoom meeting, was held on March 27 2023 at 14.00 WIB.
Cita Sehat was represented by Susilowati along with two other speakers, namely Saraswati Ratnanggana from Kopernik and Ardelia Apti from Mapan, who expressed their views regarding the role of each organization in sustainability in Indonesia.
Apart from explaining the programs carried out by Cita Sehat to support the SDGs, Susilowati expressed her views on an important issue in the world of sustainability, namely whether an organization must be at an above average (rich) economic status to be sustainable?
An NGO does not have to be rich to be sustainable. It cannot be denied that when an NGO has sufficient financial resources, this will really help the NGO achieve its vision and mission, but sustainability means more about how an organization can manage resources and operate for a long time.
There are several things that can factor into an NGO becoming sustainable, namely
- Diversify funding sources.
- Management of human resources, equipment and so on so that the organization is more effective and efficient.
- Building partnerships. Collaborating with organizations can help an NGO achieve its goals.
Cita Sehat started an initiative to be independent and sustainable as an organization by applying the socio enterprise concept to pratama clinic services. CSF also continues to collaborate with various parties to support the government in realizing the SDGs, especially in the health and food sectors. Cita Sehat also strives to utilize technology and social media as tools to educate the public and expand social networks.
