East Manggarai, July 18, 2026 – Limited access to safe circumcision services that meet medical standards remains a challenge for some communities in eastern Indonesia. This situation means that not all children have equal access to adequate health care.
As a manifestation of its commitment to addressing these needs, DT Peduli, in collaboration with Cita Sehat, organized the “Barokah Circumcision Program” on July 18, 2026, at the Nur Falaq Mosque in Nanga Lok Village, Golo Lijun Village, Elar Subdistrict, East Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara. This program provided free circumcision services to 20 children from underprivileged families so that they could undergo the procedure safely, comfortably, and in accordance with medical standards.
Collaboration to Expand Access to Health Care
Circumcision is not only part of religious teachings for Muslims, but it also offers health benefits in maintaining hygiene and preventing various risks of infection. However, limited access to health services in remote areas often prevents communities from obtaining these services.
Through this collaboration, DT Peduli and Cita Sehat aim to bring health services closer to the community while ensuring that every child has an equal opportunity to receive safe, high-quality medical care.
Professional Services Along with Gifts for Participants
The series of activities began with participant registration, followed by the opening ceremony, remarks from the organizers, and the symbolic presentation of gifts to mark the start of the event.
Afterwards, the circumcision procedure was performed by professional healthcare workers using safe, sterile medical procedures that prioritized the participants’ comfort. Support was provided throughout the procedure to help the children feel more at ease.
After undergoing circumcision, each participant received a gift package consisting of a school bag, stationery supplies, a cap, a sarong, post-circumcision shorts, and a cash grant. These gifts are intended to encourage the children while helping to meet their needs following the procedure and supporting their educational activities.
The event concluded with the distribution of gift packages to all participants and a group photo session as a symbol of unity and a commitment to continue providing beneficial healthcare services to the community.
Appreciation from Community Leaders
Jamaludin, the imam of the Nur Falaq Mosque, expressed his appreciation for the compassion shown by DT Peduli and Cita Sehat in providing healthcare services to the community in his area.
“Thank you very much to DT Peduli and Cita Sehat for organizing the ‘Khitanan Barokah’ event. Hopefully, this circumcision program will be beneficial and bring blessings to children in remote areas of the country,” he said.
According to him, activities like this offer hope to communities that have long faced limitations in accessing healthcare services, particularly circumcisions performed in accordance with medical procedures.
