East Lombok—For some people, obtaining water for drinking, cooking, bathing, and daily needs may seem simple. However, for communities in the southern region of East Lombok, access to clean water remains a challenge, especially during droughts.
Limited water sources force residents of Sekaroh and Kalianta villages to rely on periodic clean water deliveries. This situation is particularly difficult for economically disadvantaged families who have limited ability to meet their basic needs on their own.
In the midst of this situation, access to clean water is not merely a matter of convenience but a basic need that must be met.
Five Water Tanks to Help Residents Cope with the Drought
Through the WASH GOOD program, Cita Sehat distributed clean water aid to communities in the southern region of East Lombok on August 8 and 9, 2026.
A total of five tanks—equivalent to 25,000 liters of clean water—were distributed to communities in Sekaroh Village and Kalianta Village.
This aid is expected to help meet the water needs of approximately 50–80 households facing limited access to clean water.
This distribution is part of Cita Sehat’s efforts to help communities meet their basic needs while alleviating the burden on residents who have had to wait for periodic water distributions.
Residents Enthusiastically Welcome Clean Water
The arrival of the water tank was greeted with enthusiasm by the community. After information about the distribution was announced, residents began gathering, bringing various containers to collect water.
The community lined up orderly to receive water for their household needs.
The children’s joy was also evident as they welcomed the water tank. Some of them even immediately used the available water to bathe on the spot.
This simple moment illustrates that, even amid limited access to water, the availability of clean water can provide benefits while also bringing joy to the community.

Clean Water for Basic Needs and Health
Limited access to clean water can impact various aspects of people’s lives, ranging from household needs to personal and environmental hygiene.
In the context of drought, water distribution serves as a key response to help communities maintain access to basic necessities. It is hoped that the water distributed through WASH GOOD will be used by residents for various household needs while also alleviating the burden on the community as long as water sources remain limited.
Meeting Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) needs is a vital part of supporting public health. Access to adequate water helps communities maintain personal hygiene, as well as the cleanliness of their homes and surroundings.
Therefore, clean water interventions are not merely about providing water; they are also part of efforts to safeguard the quality of life and public health.
From 25,000 Liters of Water, Hope for Survival Grows
Clean water assistance may seem simple, but for communities facing drought, every liter of water makes a difference.
By distributing five tanks of clean water in Sekaroh Village and Kalianta Village, Cita Sehat hopes to help the community meet their daily needs while facing limited water resources.
This distribution is also part of an effort to foster compassion and mutual aid in responding to the challenges faced by the community.
Cita Sehat continues to strive to provide health and environmental interventions tailored to the community’s needs, including helping to improve access to basic necessities such as clean water.
After all, health begins not only with medical services but also with access to a healthy environment and adequate basic necessities.
Help Expand Access to Clean Water
The distribution of 25,000 liters of clean water is one of the steps taken to help communities facing limited access to water. However, the needs of communities in drought-affected areas remain unmet.
Cita Sehat continues to rally public support to help provide access to clean water for more families in need.
Let’s be part of the effort to provide clean water and protect public health.
